Whale Shark Capital · Inhambane, Mozambique
Where whale sharks come to stay.
About this Destination
Tofo Beach has grown from a traditional fishing village into one of Mozambique's most extraordinary dive destinations. Sandy roads, swaying palms, welcoming locals, and laid-back beach bars set the scene — but what truly defines Tofo is what lies beneath the surface.
This is one of the few places on Earth where whale sharks — the largest fish in the world — can be encountered year-round in crystal-clear waters. Tofo's marine ecosystem is extraordinarily rich: vibrant coral reefs, exotic fish, manta rays, dolphins, and seasonal humpback whales.
On land, the town's cultural heartbeat pulses through its fresh seafood markets, handcrafted souvenirs, and lively music and dance.
